The Apec countries have at their summit in Yokohama for the first time known to a common trans-Pacific growth strategy. As an important step adopted countries, more specific discussions on a trans-Pacific free trade zone begin.
The vision is a powerful free-trade bloc, which connects the largest market in the world with the strongest East Asian industrial nations and emerging countries in Asia. The Apec is in a unique position, Agenda advance regional integration, is the APEC leaders in ihrer Abschlusserklärung fest.
"We commit to take necessary and concrete steps toward making this vision a reality, which we are confident will bring about greater prosperity and well-being for all peoples in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. We instruct our Ministers and Senior Officials to accelerate our work to strengthen and deepen regional economic integration in the coming year, and consistent with the vision articulated in this document, to design and implement specific initiatives to address barriers to trade and investment, and to ensure high-quality, sustainable growth in the future.
